Compare the standalone Condor 2 Air Awning with the complete Condor 2 Air Awnex XL system. Learn which setup fits your overlanding style and vehicle height.
Quick answer
Choose the standalone Condor 2 Air Awning if you already own a Condor 2 series tent and want to add 82 sq ft of shade over the entrance. Choose the Condor 2 Air Awnex XL if you need a complete, all-in-one system with a wall kit and floor kit for full weather protection, and you have a Condor 2 XL Air or Condor Overland 2 XL Air tent.
What each product includes
The Condor 2 Air Awning is a standalone awning that zips directly into your Condor 2 series tent, adding up to 82 sq ft of coverage. You can add the Wall Kit and Floor Kit separately to complete the AWNEX system later. The Condor 2 Air Awnex XL, on the other hand, is the complete system for Condor 2 XL Air and Condor Overland 2 XL Air tents. It bundles the XL awning, wall kit, and floor kit together, so you get full enclosure right out of the box.
Both require the tent to be mounted between 60" and 84" off the ground. The floor kit in the Awnex XL is one size and may not fully cover the interior on all setups, so check your specific vehicle and tent configuration before committing.
Coverage and fit differences
The standard Condor 2 Air Awning provides 82 sq ft of coverage and works with any Condor 2 series tent. The Awnex XL system is designed specifically for the larger XL versions of those tents, meaning it offers more overall footprint but is not backward-compatible with standard Condor 2 tents. If you have a standard Condor 2 tent, the Awnex XL simply won't fit.
The Big Wing 270 Awning bundles (like the Condor Overland 2 XL Air + Big Wing 270 Awning Bundle) offer 270-degree wraparound coverage and are a different category altogether. The comparison here is strictly between the standalone air awning and the complete Awnex XL system.
Tradeoffs at a glance
- Standalone vs complete system: The Condor 2 Air Awning is a single component; the Awnex XL bundles awning, wall kit, and floor kit together. Choose the standalone if you want to build your setup over time. Choose the Awnex XL if you want one-box convenience.
- Tent compatibility: The standard awning fits all Condor 2 series tents. The Awnex XL fits only Condor 2 XL Air and Condor Overland 2 XL Air tents. If you have a standard Condor 2 tent, the Awnex XL is not an option.
- Floor kit coverage: The Awnex XL floor kit is one size and may not fully cover the interior on all setups. The standalone awning lets you add a floor kit later if needed. Measure your tent's interior footprint before buying the Awnex XL if full floor coverage is important.
Product facts at a glance
- Condor 2 Air Awning: The Condor 2 Air Awning zips directly into your Condor 2 series tent adding up to 82 sq ft of coverage for extra shade or weather protection over the entrance. Add the Wall Kit and Floor Kit separately. You can start with just the awning and expand later, which keeps the initial cost lower and lets you tailor the system to your trips.
- Condor 2 Air Awnex - XL: The Condor 2 Air Awnex XL is the complete system for Condor 2 XL Air and Condor Overland 2 XL Air tents, consisting of the XL awning, wall kit, and floor kit. The floor kit is one size and may not fully cover the interior on all setups. You get everything in one purchase, but the one-size floor kit means you should verify coverage for your specific tent and vehicle combination.
